A fun toy for our adopted pet rabbit, Honey. She needs to dig and we need her to NOT dig herself out of our backyard. This sandbox was the solution.

 

Added 3/27/2021 – We use beach sand in our sand box. It’s not the same as river or concrete sand. Beach sand has a lot of calcium and organic material and is very fine … almost powdery. We DON’T use rock sand. Make sure to choose safe sand to use if you want to try this out. Always observe your bunny when you introduce a new toy to make sure they know how to play with it properly.

 

Also not all bunnies need a sand box. Some bunnies are mellow and not as destructive. Ours LOVE to dig and gets destructive when she can’t dig. We tried dirt for her to dig but she got sick. This beach sand box keeps our bunny happy.

 

This sand box comes with a sturdy cover when not in use. The kids like building a mountain just so Honey can knock it down.
